Bear and Mouse is run by husband and wife team, Lee & Hannah Rushforth. Lee, a Head Chef and Hannah, previously an Events Manager for a luxury hotel, now a full time mum to Edward (Bear) and Henry (Mouse).
Bear and Mouse started as a tiny thought during a family holiday to Australia is 2016. Over the next 18 months, we spent far too much time eating chocolates, bouncing around ideas, perfecting techniques, and learning the science of chocolate along with throwing our second baby and house renovations into the mix!
We finally launched in March 2018 with our range of handmade Easter Eggs, and followed this quickly by launching our first 3 chocolate bars. Since then, we have launched a range that includes over 20 different chocolate bars with unique flavour combinations, along with chocolates, truffles, and seasonal products. We can be found in a wide range of independent stockists in Yorkshire and beyond and also supply to small hamper companies, corporate clients, luxury hotels and various unique holiday accommodations.
As of Summer 2019, we have moved to larger premises in order to meet ever growing demand, whilst still maintaining all our original ideals and values of our artisan product range.
In Winter 2019, we are launching chocolate workshops from our premises in Ripon.
All Bear and Mouse chocolates are hand made in Ripon, North Yorkshire by Lee. All the packaging, sales & marketing are handled by Hannah.
All our chocolate bar packaging at Bear & Mouse is eco friendly and biodegradable. This includes the bar wrappers (compostable cellulose), labels to seal (compostable cellulose) and the outer wrapper (recycled Kraft paper). Our dark chocolate is suitable for a vegan diet.
